The Wedding at Cana and Mary’s Request

عروسی قانا و درخواست مریم

and Jesus also was bidden, and his disciples, to the marriage.
۲:۲عیسی و شاگردان او نیز به عروسی دعوت شده بودند.

And when the wine failed, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
۲:۳و چون شراب تمام شد مادر عیسی به او گفت شراب ندارند.

۲:۴عیسی به او گفت بانو این به من و تو چه ربطی دارد؟ ساعت من هنوز نرسیده است.

The Water Becomes Wine and the Disciples Believe

آب به شراب تبدیل میشود و شاگردان ایمان میآورند

Now there were six waterpots of stone set there after the Jews’ manner of purifying, containing two or three firkins apiece.
۲:۶و در آنجا شش خمرۀ سنگی برای آیین پاکسازی یهودیان قرار داشت که هر یک گنجایش دو یا سه پیمانه را داشت.

Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
۲:۷عیسی به آنان گفت خمرهها را از آب پر کنید و آنها را تا لب پر کردند.

And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the ruler of the feast. And they bare it.
۲:۸و به آنان گفت اکنون از آن بکشید و نزد سرپرست بزم ببرید و آنان آن را بردند.

And when the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and knew not whence it was (but the servants that had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast calleth the bridegroom,
۲:۹و چون سرپرست بزم آب را که شراب شده بود چشید و نمیدانست از کجا بود اما خادمانی که آب را کشیده بودند میدانستند سرپرست بزم داماد را صدا کرد.

and saith unto him, Every man setteth on first the good wine; and when men have drunk freely, then that which is worse: thou hast kept the good wine until now.
۲:۱۰و به او گفت هر کسی نخست شراب خوب را پیش میآورد و چون مهمانان مست شوند شراب نامرغوبتر را پیش میآورد اما تو شراب خوب را تاکنون نگه داشتهای.

This beginning of his signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
۲:۱۱عیسی این را که آغاز نشانهها بود در قانای جلیل انجام داد و جلال خود را آشکار کرد و شاگردان او به او ایمان آوردند.

After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples; and there they abode not many days.
۲:۱۲پس از این او و مادر او و برادران او و شاگردان او به کفرناحوم پایین رفتند و در آنجا روزهای زیادی نماندند.

And the passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
۲:۱۳و عید پِسَخ یهودیان نزدیک بود و عیسی به اورشلیم بالا رفت.

And he found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
۲:۱۴و در صحن معبد کسانی را یافت که گاو و گوسفند و کبوتر میفروختند و صرافان را که نشسته بودند.

and he made a scourge of cords, and cast all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables;
۲:۱۵و تازیانهای از ریسمانها ساخت و همه را از صحن معبد بیرون راند هم گوسفندها را و هم گاوها را و سکههای صرافان را ریخت و میزهای آنان را واژگون کرد.

and to them that sold the doves he said, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house a house of merchandise.
۲:۱۶و به کبوترفروشان گفت اینها را از اینجا ببرید خانۀ پدر من را بازار نسازید.

His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for thy house shall eat me up.
۲:۱۷شاگردان او به یاد آوردند که نوشته شده است غیرت برای خانۀ تو مرا خواهد بلعید.

“Destroy This Temple”

The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
۲:۱۸پس یهودیان جواب دادند و به او گفتند چه نشانهای به ما نشان میدهی که این کارها را انجام میدهی؟

Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
۲:۱۹عیسی جواب داد و به آنان گفت این معبد را ویران کنید و من آن را در سه روز برپا خواهم کرد.

The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?
۲:۲۰پس یهودیان گفتند ساختن این معبد چهل و شش سال طول کشیده است و تو آن را در سه روز برپا خواهی کرد؟

But he spake of the temple of his body.
۲:۲۱اما معبدی که او از آن سخن میگفت بدن خود او بود.

When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he spake this; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
۲:۲۲پس هنگامی که او از مردگان برخاست شاگردان او به یاد آوردند که این را گفته بود و به نوشتۀ مقدس و به سخنی که عیسی گفته بود ایمان آوردند.

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, many believed on his name, beholding his signs which he did.
۲:۲۳و هنگامی که او در عید پِسَخ در اورشلیم بود بسیاری با دیدن نشانههایی که او انجام میداد به نام او ایمان آوردند.

But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men,
۲:۲۴اما عیسی خود را به آنان نمیسپرد زیرا همه را میشناخت

and because he needed not that any one should bear witness concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
۲:۲۵و نیازی نداشت که کسی دربارۀ انسان شهادت دهد زیرا خود او آنچه را که در انسان بود میدانست.
