4:1-6
Jesus Travels through Samaria

(although Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples),
۴:۲هرچند خود عیسی تعمید نمیداد بلکه شاگردان او تعمید میدادند

he left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
۴:۳یهودیه را ترک کرد و باز به جلیل رفت.

And he must needs pass through Samaria.
۴:۴و لازم بود که او از سامره بگذرد.

So he cometh to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph:
۴:۵پس به شهری از سامره آمد که سوخار نام داشت و نزدیک قطعۀ زمینی بود که یعقوب به پسر خود یوسف داده بود.

and Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
۴:۶و چاه یعقوب در آنجا بود پس عیسی که از سفر خسته بود همانجا کنار چاه نشسته بود تقریباً ساعت ششم بود.
4:7-15
Jesus Offers Living Water

There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
۴:۷زنی از سامره میآید تا آب بکشد. عیسی به او میگوید به من آب بده.

For his disciples were gone away into the city to buy food.
۴:۸زیرا شاگردان او به شهر رفته بودند تا خوراک بخرند.

The Samaritan woman therefore saith unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, who am a Samaritan woman? (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
۴:۹پس زن سامری به او میگوید چگونه تو که یهودی هستی از من که زنی سامری هستم آب میخواهی؟ زیرا یهودیان با سامریان مراوده ندارند.

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
۴:۱۰عیسی جواب داد و به او گفت اگر میدانستی موهبت خدا چیست و کیست که به تو میگوید به من آب بده تو از او درخواست میکردی و او به تو آب زنده میداد.

The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: whence then hast thou that living water?
۴:۱۱زن به او میگوید آقا وسیلهای برای آب کشیدن نداری و چاه عمیق است پس این آب زنده را از کجا میآوری؟

Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his sons, and his cattle?
۴:۱۲مگر تو از پدر ما یعقوب بزرگتر هستی که این چاه را به ما داد و خود او و پسران او و دامهای او از آن نوشیدند؟

Jesus answered and said unto her, Every one that drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
۴:۱۳عیسی جواب داد و به او گفت هر کس که از این آب بنوشد باز تشنه خواهد شد.

but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life.
۴:۱۴اما هر کس که از آبی که من به او میدهم بنوشد هرگز تشنه نخواهد شد بلکه آبی که من به او میدهم در او به چشمهای از آب تبدیل خواهد شد که تا حیات جاویدان میجوشد.

The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come all the way hither to draw.
۴:۱۵زن به او میگوید آقا این آب را به من بده تا تشنه نشوم و برای آب کشیدن به اینجا نیایم.

Jesus Reveals the Woman’s Past

عیسی گذشتۀ زن را آشکار میکند

Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
۴:۱۶عیسی به او میگوید برو شوهرت را صدا کن و به اینجا بیا.

The woman answered and said unto him, I have no husband. Jesus saith unto her, Thou saidst well, I have no husband:
۴:۱۷زن جواب داد و به او گفت شوهر ندارم عیسی به او میگوید خوب گفتی که شوهر نداری

for thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: this hast thou said truly.
۴:۱۸زیرا پنج شوهر داشتهای و آن که اکنون داری شوهر تو نیست این را راست گفتهای.

The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
۴:۱۹زن به او میگوید آقا میبینم که تو نبی هستی.

Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
۴:۲۰پدران ما بر این کوه پرستش کردند و شما میگویید که اورشلیم جایی است که باید در آنجا پرستش کرد.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, shall ye worship the Father.
۴:۲۱عیسی به او میگوید بانو به من باور کن ساعتی میآید که نه بر این کوه و نه در اورشلیم پدر را پرستش خواهید کرد.

Ye worship that which ye know not: we worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.
۴:۲۲شما آنچه را نمیشناسید پرستش میکنید ما آنچه را میشناسیم پرستش میکنیم زیرا نجات از یهودیان است.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for such doth the Father seek to be his worshippers.
۴:۲۳اما ساعتی میآید و اکنون نیز فرا رسیده است که پرستشگران حقیقی پدر را در روح و راستی پرستش خواهند کرد زیرا پدر نیز چنین کسانی را میجوید که او را پرستش کنند.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
۴:۲۴خدا روح است و کسانی که او را پرستش میکنند باید در روح و راستی پرستش کنند.

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiah cometh (he that is called Christ): when he is come, he will declare unto us all things.

The Woman Calls the City

زن مردم شهر را فرا میخواند

And upon this came his disciples; and they marvelled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why speakest thou with her?
۴:۲۷در همین هنگام شاگردان او آمدند و تعجب کردند که او با زنی سخن میگفت اما هیچکس نگفت چه میجویی؟ یا چرا با او سخن میگویی؟

So the woman left her waterpot, and went away into the city, and saith to the people,
۴:۲۸پس زن کوزۀ خود را بر جا گذاشت و به شهر رفت و به مردم میگوید

Come, see a man, who told me all things that ever I did: can this be the Christ?
۴:۲۹بیایید و مردی را ببینید که هر آنچه کردهام به من گفت آیا ممکن است او مسیح باشد؟

They went out of the city, and were coming to him.
۴:۳۰پس آنان از شهر بیرون آمدند و به سوی او میآمدند.

Jesus’s Food and the Harvest

خوراک عیسی و درو

In the mean while the disciples prayed him, saying, Rabbi, eat.
۴:۳۱در این میان شاگردان او از او خواهش میکردند و میگفتند ربی بخور.

But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not.
۴:۳۲اما او به آنان گفت من خوراکی برای خوردن دارم که شما از آن خبر ندارید.

The disciples therefore said one to another, Hath any man brought him aught to eat?
۴:۳۳پس شاگردان به یکدیگر میگفتند مگر کسی برای او خوراک آورده است؟

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work.
۴:۳۴عیسی به آنان میگوید خوراک من این است که ارادۀ فرستندۀ خود را به جا آورم و کار او را به کمال برسانم.

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh the harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white already unto harvest.
۴:۳۵آیا شما نمیگویید هنوز چهار ماه تا درو مانده است؟ اینک به شما میگویم چشمان خود را بلند کنید و کشتزارها را ببینید که سفید شدهاند و برای درو آمادهاند.

He that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal; that he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
۴:۳۶هماکنون دروگر مزد میگیرد و محصول را برای حیات جاویدان گرد میآورد تا کارنده و دروگر با هم شاد شوند.

For herein is the saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
۴:۳۷زیرا در اینجا این گفته راست است یکی میکارد و دیگری درو میکند.

I sent you to reap that whereon ye have not labored: others have labored, and ye are entered into their labor.
۴:۳۸من شما را فرستادم تا آنچه را که برایش زحمت نکشیدهاید درو کنید دیگران زحمت کشیدهاند و شما از زحمت آنان بهره بردهاید.
4:39-42
The Samaritans Believe

سامریان ایمان میآورند

And from that city many of the Samaritans believed on him because of the word of the woman, who testified, He told me all things that ever I did.
۴:۳۹و بسیاری از سامریان آن شهر به او ایمان آوردند بهسبب سخن آن زن که شهادت میداد هر آنچه کردهام به من گفت.

So when the Samaritans came unto him, they besought him to abide with them: and he abode there two days.
۴:۴۰پس چون سامریان نزد او آمدند از او خواهش میکردند که با آنان بماند و او دو روز در آنجا ماند.

And many more believed because of his word;
۴:۴۱و سامریان بسیار بیشتری بهسبب سخن او ایمان آوردند.

and they said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy speaking: for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Saviour of the world.
۴:۴۲و به زن میگفتند دیگر بهسبب گفتار تو نیست که ایمان میآوریم زیرا خودمان شنیدهایم و میدانیم که او بهراستی نجاتدهندۀ جهان است.
4:43-45
Jesus Returns to Galilee

عیسی به جلیل بازمیگردد

And after the two days he went forth from thence into Galilee.
۴:۴۳و پس از آن دو روز او از آنجا به جلیل رفت.

For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honor in his own country.
۴:۴۴زیرا خود عیسی شهادت داده بود که نبی در وطن خود حرمتی ندارد.

So when he came into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.
۴:۴۵پس چون به جلیل آمد جلیلیان او را پذیرفتند زیرا همۀ آنچه را که او هنگام عید در اورشلیم انجام داده بود دیده بودند زیرا خود آنان نیز برای عید آمده بودند.
4:46-54
Jesus Heals the Royal Official’s Son

عیسی پسر درباری را شفا میدهد

He came therefore again unto Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
۴:۴۶پس عیسی باز به قانای جلیل آمد جایی که آب را شراب کرده بود و یک درباری بود که پسر او در کفرناحوم بیمار بود.

When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.
۴:۴۷آن مرد چون شنید که عیسی از یهودیه به جلیل آمده است نزد او رفت و از او خواهش میکرد که پایین بیاید و پسرش را شفا دهد زیرا پسرش در آستانۀ مرگ بود.

Jesus therefore said unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will in no wise believe.
۴:۴۸پس عیسی به او گفت اگر شما نشانهها و شگفتیها را نبینید هرگز ایمان نخواهید آورد.

The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
۴:۴۹آن درباری به او میگوید آقا پایین بیا پیش از آنکه فرزندم بمیرد.

Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. The man believed the word that Jesus spake unto him, and he went his way.
۴:۵۰عیسی به او میگوید برو پسرت زنده است آن مرد به سخنی که عیسی به او گفت ایمان آورد و به راه افتاد.

And as he was now going down, his servants met him, saying, that his son lived.
۴:۵۱و هنگامی که او پایین میرفت خادمان او به استقبالش آمدند و گفتند پسرت زنده است.

So he inquired of them the hour when he began to amend. They said therefore unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
۴:۵۲پس از آنان پرسید در چه ساعتی حال پسرش بهتر شد به او گفتند دیروز در ساعت هفتم تب او را رها کرد.

So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
۴:۵۳پس پدر دریافت که این همان ساعتی بود که عیسی به او گفت پسرت زنده است و خود او و تمام اهل خانهاش ایمان آوردند.

This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judaea into Galilee.
۴:۵۴و این دومین نشانهای بود که عیسی پس از آمدن از یهودیه به جلیل انجام داد.
